The North Myrtle Beach Inshore Fishing Report Pre Tropical Storm Hermine. We had a very good Speckled Sea Trout and Redfish bite in the Backwater Creeks last week. Captain Keith had some day where we caught ten to fifteen Speckled Sea Tout with two to four keeper per trip. And the upper slot size Redfish showed up last week too.
We have been catching a good number of under the slot Redfish aka Red Drum in the twelve to fifteen inch range. This still make a good fight on Light Tackle and they will pull the drag off the reel. We did catch a few over the size slot Redfish too last week. This Redfish put a very good fight on Light Tackle. The upper size slot fish are here too now. We start to catch a few of them a few day before the storm rolled in.
The Speckled Sea Trout bite still continues to be good. This is the best year I’ve seen in many year for the Speckled Sea Trout bite. We are catching a lot under size Spike Trout in the twelve to thirteen inch size range. The Keep Trout have been in the sixteen to twenty inch range size with some Gator Trout in the twenty-six to twenty-eight inch size ranges.
Its going to take a few tide cycles for the water to get cleaned up form the rain that we had from the storm. The Rain helped cool the water down a good bite. This should fire the bite off come Tuesday and thru next week with the cooler water temps.
