Why did  I create a saltwater fishing instruction service?

Friends kept asking me, “How do you catch fish ?”, or they would say “I went fishing and caught nothing”. “I ran aground trying to find places to fish”. After hearing this all too often I knew there was a need to help people with their boating and fishing skills.

What is Captain Keith's Instruction and Guide Service?

We are fully licensed, insured, LLC company specializing in educating novice fisherman and boaters on how to be more proficient, safe, confident, and knowledgeable while fishing and boating in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Littler River, Cherry Grove, South Carolina. As well as,  Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle, Holden Beach, Oak Island, and Southport, North Carolina

Who will benefit from our Services?

The vast majority of our clients will be the novice to moderately skilled fishermen that have recently moved or reside in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Littler River, Cherry Grove, South Carolina; and, Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle, Holden Beach, Oak Island, and Southport, North Carolina, or have just purchased their first boat. Most clients will have some experience fishing, but are using methods and equipment that is geared for species not found in the North and South Carolina waters.

How does the Instruction work?

For those “hands-on learners”, we’re available for hire, offering private instructional lessons by the hour or day. This will be extremely popular and best accomplished on your boat, with your tackle, fish finder, GPS, etc. I will also bring some of my fishing equipment to share different techniques. We help fine tune your electronics, teach you to anchor over a piece of structure, decide what species to fish for, the best baits to use, and even how to better care for and cook your catch.

What Other Unique Services do you Offer?

Once you are a client, the benefits continue into the future. We will meet you at your favorite tackle store or marina and help you make tackle or boat equipment purchases that will really save you money. All tackle is documented and labeled so replacing is easy. Up to date fishing reports will be just a phone call or e-mail away.
Regardless which service you take advantage of, my main goal is to minimize your stress, maximize results, improve boating safety and ultimately teach you to “Fish Smarter, Not harder.” And

Guide Service

If you’ve been looking for a way to learn how to catch more fish with what you have, this is for you.  Our guide service teaches you how to catch more fish using your boat and your rod and reels.  We’ll teach you how to save money tying your own rigs, how to properly troll in the ocean for Kings, Spanish, Blues, Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi or whatever you would like to catch. We also have Backwater Guide Service on your boat, or ours. This will teach you how to backwater fish for Flounder, Trout, Red Drum and other Backwater fish.  We don’t tell you what you're doing wrong, instead we teach the right way.  We charge only $50 per hour, with a four hour minimum. 

Boater Training

We have added boater training to our range of services offered. We can teach you everything from loading and unloading your boat on the trailer to navigating the waterway to understanding what the signs and buoys mean. We spend time on the correct way to dock your boat. We practice backing in and out, docking in tight situations, and proper dock line knots. We teach to correct use of GPS units and fish finder operation. The most important thing that we teach is boater safety and how to handle challenging situations. We only charge $50/hr with a 4 hour minimum.
